Ian Tait was presented with a inscribed plaque and bible at the Service
on Sunday 2 December, after serving as Session Clerk to the St.
Mungo's Kirk Session for 21 years. In that time he missed only one
meeting.
Margaret Webster, as Assistant Session Clerk,
made the presentation and gave thanks to Ian for his service to the
Church.
Ian is a born and bred Penicuik man. He was born
in 1941at 26 Kirkhill Road, a stones throw from St. Mungo's Church.
He joined St. Mungo's at the age of 17 in 1958 when he was also a
member of the Boys Brigade.
Joining the Eldership of the Church was achieved
in 1983, and next year will see his 50th anniversary as a Church
member.
Though fraught by recent ill health from which he
has recovered, thanks to doctors and prayers from the congregation,
Ian will continue to serve as an Elder and maintain his district of
church members.
Sandy Robertson will take Ian's place
as Session Clerk from the beginning of January 2008.
