Nativity Play 2008

This year the congregation were encouraged to join the main players and follow the story. With a theme of "The Journey" the play acted out the signs of the coming Messiah and following the bright star to Bethlehem, to the stable with manger. The Sunday School played the parts of Kings and Angels, whilst the big bad King Herod was played by one of the elders (who did a good job of being bad!).

As with all good stories there was a happy ending.

The Kings "subjects" receive their crowns and lanterns from two of the Kings, in preparation for the journey

The journey begins led by one of the Kings, joined by a party of followers.

Another part of the journey is led by the Angels, leading the people to Bethlehem.

Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus in the manger are visited by Kings and Angels.

A lighter moment when the script goes its own way!

A King receives gifts from Santa after the performance.

And so do the Angels.
