Croissants & butter

Margaret Black fills a bacon roll

Big Brekkie - 28 April 2019

All smiles from Janis Hogg, Agnes Ovenstone & Margaret Black serving up breakfast

St. Mungo's put on a pre-service breakfast as part of the Christian Aid Big Brekkie event on Sunday 28 April.

On offer were bacon or sausage rolls with hot or cold croissants with lashings of butter and jam, or
Pain au chocolat, for those who don't like a cooked breakfast. The social team with Janis Hogg, Agnes Ovenstone, Margaret Black, and Joan Cape worked tirelessly in the kitchen to prepare our meal.

The lucky members of the congregation who arrived early enjoyed a real treat with plenty of tea, coffee, or soft drinks for the young ones, to wash it all down.

The Big Brekkie was raising awareness of the forthcoming Christian Aid Week (12-18 May) and helping raise vital funds to help poor communities worldwide. Last year more than 2,500 people took part in the Big Brekkie.

Thanks to our early risers who donated  £173 for Christian Aid. Well done to everyone who took part.
