Soft toys for some lucky child

Christmas Fair - 16 November 2013

Saturday 16th was sunny but bitterly cold, but St. Mungo's Hall offered a warm welcome both spiritually and physically, to the annual Christmas Fair.

The Fair put on a host of tables with lots to tempt the visitors, from raffles and tombola to gifts of all shapes and sizes. Of course the bottle stall was there and many smiles were seen as the those having a 'flutter' unfolded a winning number.

If having a 'flutter' was not your thing then gifts of all shapes and sizes, including toys for the children, and books for covering suspense, who odne it and cookery were on sale. Heather Boyle had a wide selection of cards for Christmas and many other occasions.

After a good look through all the stalls, and a bagful of goodies it was time to sit down for refreshments. The ladies had been busy baking and the selection to choose from was fit for a king, or queen. Washed down with tea or coffee, as much as you could drink, allowed plenty of time to chat with fellow browsers at the fair.

Thanks to all who turned out to support this event, which attracted quite a few 'new' faces who had seen the posters around the town centre.

The event made over £500 for church funds.
