New minister to preach at St. Mungo's  - 30 April

As instructed by the Interim Moderator Yvonne Atkins, the Rev Hugh Davidson read an edict to the congregation, prior to the start of the morning service on Sunday 16 April 2017.

At a meeting held in Craigmillar Park church Edinburgh, on Sunday 12 March 2017, the St. Mungo's Nominating Committee chose the person they wish to propose to our congregation to be our new minister. His name is the Rev John Urquhart.

The Rev John Urquhart will preach to our congregation on Sunday 30th April 2017 at 11.00am. Immediately after that service there will be a vote to determine whether or not he should be appointed to be the new minister of our congregation here in St. Mungo's. Only those whose name appears on the electoral register of St. Mungo's will be entitled to vote.

The edict will again be read prior to the start of the service on Sunday 23rd April.

This is indeed good news. We have been searching long and  hard for a new minister to fill the current vacancy, and lead us forward in the service of God. If you are a member on the electoral roll, then please put Sunday 30 April in your diary. It is important that as many members as possible listen to, and subsequently vote on, the suitability of the Rev John Urquhart as our next minister.  Every vote counts, and a large turnout to vote will ensure that the decision arrived at is a true reflection of the congregation membership of St. Mungo's.
